General Questions

  • Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a contract directly between a patient and a provider. We do not accept insurance but instead bill you a low monthly membership fee that covers a majority of the cost of your primary healthcare throughout the year. With a membership model, we are capable of sustaining a smaller practice volume and allow us to have increased access and extended visit times at no additional costs (schedule permitting) for included services.

Additional fees may be associated for excluded services

  • The true goal of medicine is to get people healthy and to keep them healthy not to have a revolving door of sickness. Having someone in your corner who can get you into the best health of your life is a goal worth having. Even if you are not sick and require very little medical attention now it may not always be that way. Think of us like a good marriage, we are here with you through sickness and health. We are there to help you set goals, help you to obtain them and can help anticipate / correct problems before they become an actual issue. Part of your membership means your healthcare provider has the time to check in with you on a regular basis even when you're well and keep you accountable

  • A Physician Assistant is an advanced level medical degree. It is a fast-paced immersive training program that condenses approximately 85% of a 4-year Medical School and Residency program for MD's into an accelerated 2-2.5 year program. PA's receive many of the same classes, training and skills as their MD cousins albeit at a slightly lower level of in-depth technical knowledge and experience. Much is learned after school in practice and continuing education. The result of this training is a Medical Provider who is fully capable of treating you and your family for a majority of illnesses and disorders. If your case becomes complex, PA's retain a supervising physician that they may consult with about you at any time to ensure you receive high-quality care. Your health and safety are our priority however, if your case becomes extraordinarily complex above the skills of our PA providers we will refer you to one of our MD/DO colleagues with a higher level of training to take over your care.

Membership

  • Join us for a Meet & Greet and we will be happy to explain the process to you!

  • Your membership fee covers excellent primary care with unlimited visits, no copay, increased access to your provider and various other perks.

Additionally, discounted labs, discounted imaging, discounted medications and discounted procedures may be offered on excluded services

  • We can see ages 4 till end of life. Children under 4 should be seen by a pediatrician

  • Yes of course! The number of refills are based on the stability of the patient and determined on a case by case basis.

Insurance

  • No, this is the entire basis of what makes this model so great. No insurance means we can treat you (and charge you) in a way that is fair and not what your insurance mandates. When there's no third party involvement, there's less overhead and you get prices that make sense

  • While you can join our practice without insurance, we recommend that you have at bare minimum catastrophic high deductible insurance or Health Share for any major medical costs that are not part of our membership program

  • In the future maybe. However, at this current time we do not accept any patients with federally funded programs

Cost

  • All pricing information can be found on our Pricing Page

  • The traditional model of healthcare is what is known as a "fee for service" or "FFS" for short. As its name implies you are given an itemized receipt for everything that was performed during an office visit. This means every aspect of the visit is quantified and billed. This includes the time they spent documenting, the number of problems, the number of systems reviewed, the number of items checked on a physical exam, the number of labs, the number of imaging studies, if a referral was sent, any procedures done, any supplies used and the list goes on and on. A simple visit to the doctor's office for a flu swab can wind up costing hundreds of dollars for less than a 15-minute visit. Lack of access to healthcare providers due to excessive practice volume can often force patients to Urgent Care's and Emergency Room's for non-emergent issues. If you have a high deductible insurance, you are paying your premium, then the entire cost of your deductible before insurance covers any of it. Some insurances may even require copays, & co-insurance beyond the deductible. The out of pocket costs even with insurance can add up fast. The DPC model helps to stabilize your yearly cost through a membership. In combination with a low premium and high deductible insurance, your out of pocket costs become much more reasonable.

  • This is currently a grey area of the law and is heavily debated. You may wish to speak with your Accountant or Human Resources Department regarding usage of these funds
