What are allergy injections?

An allergy injection is a medication to stop or reduce the body’s allergic response to environmental stimuli. The simplest method to do this is by using a medication such as Triamcinolone (Kenalog) which is a long-acting steroid injected into the body. This has been shown to reduce allergic symptoms for around 3 months, though can be more or less depending on the specific patient.

How often can I receive Kenalog injections?

Generally, it is safe to receive Kenalog (Triamcinolone) injections once every 3-4 months though this may differ if you have any pre-existing or extenuating factors. Generally, when seasons are about to change is a great time to get them if you experience intense allergy symptoms.
